AIM

To identify aerobic and facultative anaerobic bacteria according to their capacity for oxidation and/or fermentation of glucose and understand the importance of those processes within the biotechnology industry.

LEVEL

Can be adapted to O-level, A/AS-level, Science colleges and Universities.

TECHNIQUES

Microbial culture process.
Growth analysis and use of carbohydrates under different oxygen conditions.

DURATION

Two 50 minute practice sessions.

Each kit contains four work stations with all the necessary material and components to perform the experiments: racks, material for microbial inoculation, culture media, material to perform anaerobiosis and other general content to perform the practice session successfully.
